DEE WILSON CONSULTING
Training:
Reunification (Half day)
This training begins with information regarding reunification statistics, findings from reunification studies regarding factors that facilitate or impede reunification, followed by a discussion of concurrent planning.
The training presents proxy measures for assessing child safety when children have been placed in foster care for months or years, and develops criteria for reunification titled MEEERS, i.e., motivation, experience in caring for children, enjoyment of parent- child interactions, self efficacy, parenting skills and community resources to support reunification.
The training summarizes research regarding post- reunification services and the optimal mix of services to facilitate safe and stable reunifications. The training employs a small group exercise to develop guidelines for in-home safety plans (that include relapse plans) during and following trial home visits.
